American Naval History is a static website. It has no accounts, no logins, no comment system and no advertising network.

What this site collects

Nothing that identifies you. There is no analytics script, no tracking pixel and no advertising tag on these pages. The site sets no cookies of its own.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard server request data such as IP address, user agent and requested URL in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse. This is handled by Cloudflare under its own privacy terms and is not used by us to build any profile of you.

Embedded video

Episode pages embed video from YouTube using the youtube-nocookie.com domain, which does not set tracking cookies unless you play the video. If you press play, YouTube and Google receive data about that playback under their own privacy policy. Pages you do not play a video on send nothing to YouTube beyond loading the player.

Email

If you write to contact@americannavalhistory.com, your message is forwarded to a private mailbox and kept only so the message can be answered. It is not added to any mailing list, and it is never sold or shared.

Pinterest

We publish our own articles as pins to our own Pinterest boards. That process uses only our own text and artwork. It does not read, store or process data about visitors to this site or about other Pinterest users.

Children

This site is general-audience historical writing and is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
